Departure of Feds Musical Director

At the Yamaha Queensland State Band Championships in early October, the Feds won the title of A Grade Queensland State Champions. With consistent performances on both days, the Feds managed to take out all on-stage events.

The win was cause for celebration in more ways than one, as it was the perfect way to send off their Musical Director Louisa Lawless, who has resigned after four years with the band.

Lou made the decision to resign her position as Musical Director, which was an extremely difficult one for her as she has truly enjoyed her time with the Feds and maintains her passion for the brass banding movement.

Louisa will continue to be a huge supporter of the Feds, as she continues to follow the band's development and growth.

The decision made by Louisa was influenced by her desire to further commit to other aspects of her life, specifically her career in education and supporting her family, in particular her young son, Mitchell.

Lou has been an integral part of the band's continued growth and development, and has taken the Feds forward musically with style and passion. The band would like to take this opportunity to thank Louisa for her commitment and everything she has done in support of the Feds.

The Feds have resumed rehearsals after recovering from the State Competition, and are now working towards and looking forward to the next exciting chapter of the band’s history.
